Background and context

"If you don't think about your future, you can't have one" - this great words of famous English writer J. Galsworthy brightly describe today's situation in world with China. Economy, military, population, scientific development of the one of the biggest countries in the world can made everyone to think about China, about world, about themselves. Should we be afraid of China on its rise?

Is China an economic threat?

• It already is the greatest economy in the world and thus it is of great influence that might present a threat. [1]

• Social inequalities. There are great differences between the rich and the poor and this gap is widening every year. Millions of people are still living on a poverty line. However, this is not a picture of a long-term stable country.
• Undemocratic regime. Democratic regimes are usually more stable than dictatorships.
