]Assignment #1 — Persuasive Writing
Subject matter: something you want to promote or change in your country
Your point of view: be clear! not two sides of the story, but what you think, what you believe
Be specific: narrow it down, don't make your topic too broad, choose one aspect
Audience: who are you addressing? a letter to the government? a newspaper editorial? a manifesto? You decide!
Components: supporting facts (examples! examples!) + your opinion + proposed action
Conclusion: whose help are you asking? what can they do?
Length: up to you, but fairly short... a page or two?
...and please remember to pay special attention to what we did in class this morning, especially what worked best in other students' work:
