British Parliamentary Debate (BP) is a debate format in which four teams compete in each match. BP debates are limited-preparation debates, which means the topic is announced only minutes before the round begins, allowing only limited time for the team to plan. For this reason, to be successful, BP debaters need a good knowledge of a wide range of subjects. Though most popular at the university level, more and more high schools are beginning to participate in BP debate. | |
